Building A Dream

By Virgie Punzalan

In 1986, after my graduation of my Masters Degree in Christian Education, I deeply felt a strong burden to start a church in our community, Karangalan Village, Cainta, Rizal. With the support of my family and my Bible study groups mainly from the National Housing Authority (NHA) I started the church in 1987 and named it, Faith Family Fellowship. It was a vision came true. After a year, the fellowship that started with 15 persons multiplied to more or less 75 faithful members. Two years later, a full grown church with more or less 150 members ermerged.

In 1990 we started to raise funds to build a church edifice to accommodate our growing constituency. It was also at this point when the Lord impressed in my heart to start a Pre-School incorporated into the facilities of the church. In 1993 The Academy of Christian Excellence Montessori was born. The rest is history. Now the school that started with 75 students is now home to more than 400 students from pre-school to high school. Our growth, however, has been stunted by our limited facilities. Our priority now is to expand and accommodate more enrollees for the school year 2014-2015. We also envision to enlist more passionate teachers and accomplished educational mentors.

The growth and development path of ACEM is perhaps difficult and ambitious considering our present predicament but it is within reach by undaunted faith and resolute determination. With God nothing good is impossible.
